Celebration of Life services for Doraphene Washington Boudreaux, 82, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021, at St. Paul Baptist Church, located at 1502 S. Main Street in Jennings, with Reverend Pemell R. Trent, Sr., officiating.

Visitation will be held in the church from 9 a.m. until the time of celebration services.

Burial will be in Benevolent Cemetery under the direction of Semien-Lewis Mortuary of Jennings. Face coverings and social distancing guidelines are required.

Doraphene was born to Willis and Rosa Washinton, Sr., on Dec. 23, 1938, in Jennings. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Triumph Baptist Church in Jennings. She was a graduate of Jeff Davis School on May 23, 1958.

Doraphene worked as a housekeeper, security guard, crossing guard and bus driver for Jeff Davis Head Start.

She enjoyed being with family and friends and, most of all, church and her grandkids.

Doraphene leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Shimirra “Ivo” Richardson; four sons, Donald (Shanella) Boudreaux, Sr., Louis Boudreaux, Jr., Devin (Trina) Boudreaux, Sr., and Willis Boudreaux two stepsons, Freddie (Angella) Matthews and Tyrone (Mary) Brown; two brothers, Darrell (Ludy) Washington, Sr. and Jimmy (Luis) Llennett; two sisters, Jennie (Sam) Mouton and Susie (James) Pattum; 27 grandkids; 13 great-grandkids; two great greatgrandkids;grandkids; three great great great-and numerous relatives and friends.

Doraphene was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Boudreaux, Sr; her parents, Willis and Rosa Washington, Sr; one son, Vernon Boudreaux five brothers, George Washington, Sr., Jarvis Washington, Quale Washington, Willis Washington and Haley Washington, Jr; and one great great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Levy.
