LAKE ARTHUR - Funeral services for Mrs. Ella Mae Denney Broussard, 92, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, in First Baptist Church of Lake Arthur, with Bro. Jered Thomas officiating.

Visitation will be held in First Baptist Church of Lake Arthur from 3:30-8 p.m. Friday, and will continue from 8 a.m. Saturday until time of services.

Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur.

Mrs. Broussard died at 1:04 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019, in Jeff Davis Living Center.

Mrs. Broussard was a resident of Lake Arthur since 1953, moving here from Grosse Tete. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Lake Arthur and a member of the Willing Workers Sunday School class. She taught youth Sunday School and worked with youth for 25 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter No. 144.

Survivors include two daughters, Nannie Sue (Bob) Sindelar of Baton Rouge and Frieda Trahan of Evangeline; two stepdaughters, Catherine “Kitty” (Corky) Yrun of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and Dana LaNeve (Johnny) Alejandro of Lafayette; three sons, Hughie Newsom of Lake Worth, Fla., Reggie (Vicki) Newsom of Evangeline and Mike (Roxanne) Newsom of Hathaway; two stepsons, Larry Broussard of Lafayette and Nathan (Susan) Broussard of Winnie, Texas; one sister, Lee (Richard) LeJeune of Beaumont, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Marvin and Maude Etheal Kittrell Denney Sr.; her husbands, Henry Newsom and Lawrence Broussard; and two brothers, Robert Denney, Jr., and Roy Smith.
