A Mass of Christian burial for Elridge “Kiss” LeBlanc, 93, of Hathaway will be held in St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Hathaway Friday, Sept. 13, 2019, at 11 a.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019, from 4-9 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. by Deacon Mike Tramel. Visitation will resume Friday, Sept. 13, from 9 a.m. until the time of his service at 11 a.m.

Burial will follow in Bertrand Cemetery.

Elridge was born in Elton on Jan. 17, 1926, to Placide LeBlanc and Rosa Ringuet LeBlanc. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Sept. 9, 2019. Elridge worked as a farmer, a job he loved. He loved the outdoors, working in his garden, butchering hogs and making boudin and cracklins. Most of all, Elridge loved spending time with his family and friends, especially playing with his grandchildren. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Elridge is survived by his two sons, Lennis J. LeBlanc of Panchoville and Michael James LeBlanc (Ruby) of Lakewood, Colo.; his five daughters, Cheryl Ann Monta (Elmer) of Deep Run, N.C., Linda Miller of Jennings, Lillian Seaux of Jennings, Amy Marie Fontenot (John) of Hathaway and Amanda Lynn Fontenot (Rayford) of Hathaway; his two stepbrothers, Clisme Sonnier of Port Arthur, Texas, and Ernest Sonnier; his stepsister, Lois Dangereau; his 22 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and seven great great-grandchildren.

Elridge was preceded in death by his parents, Placide and Rosa Ringuet LeBlanc; his beloved wife, Pearl LeBlanc; five brothers; one sister; three sons-in-law; one daughterin-law; and one great-grandchild.

Carrying Elridge to his final resting place will be Eric Monta, Willie Johnson, Philip LeBlanc, Matt Fontenot, Dusty Fontenot, Adam Fontenot and Dillon Fontenot.

Honorary pallbearers will be Cory Miller and Joseph Credeur.

The family of Mr. Elridge LeBlanc would like to send a very special thank you to Dr. Chris Achee and all the staff of Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care for all the kindness and compassion they showed him and the family in their time of need.
