Ernest William ‘Mydeddy’ Davis

Ernest William Davis, 90, of Jennings passed away of natural causes July 22, 2020, at Jennings American Legion Hospital in Jennings.

Due to COVID-19, a memorial will be held at a later date.

He spent his final years in the Golden Age Nursing Home in Welsh. Ernest was a former employee of Carl D’s Mechanic Shop, Ben More Milage in Jennings and Bubba Oustalet Ford in Jennings. He also drove the agricultural bus for Lake Arthur High School. Ernest was a lifelong sports fan, especially of LSU and the New Orleans Saints.

He loved people and always had smile that was contagious. He loved Zydeco music and watching Western movies.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings; and four of his children.

Ernest is survived by his children, JoAnne Malveaux and Denise and Myrtle Davis, all of Jennings, Arthur Cormier of Houston, Texas, Annie (Clifford) Collins and Wayne (Cynthia) Julian of Lake Charles, July Davis of Arlington, Texas, Carl Davis of Lafayette, Ernetta Davis-DeJean of Missouri City, Texas, Erna (Irwin) Hicks of Beaumont, Texas, and Ronnie (Demetra) Roane of Austin, Texas; six generations of grandkids; and his best friend, Willa Cormier of Lake Arthur/Jennings.
