LAKE ARTHUR - Our precious Mom earned her angel wings July 10, 2020, after her battle with cancer in her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Marie Broussard LeJeune, 82, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 14, 2020, in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, with Rev. Roland Vaughn officiating.

Visitation was held in Miguez Funeral Home of Lake Arthur from 2-9 p.m. Monday and will resume from 8 a.m. today, Tuesday, until the time of service. A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Monday in the funeral home chapel.

Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Mrs. LeJeune was a lifelong resident of Lake Arthur. She was a very loving and supportive matriarch of her family. Her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren were her life. She loved hosting Easter Sunday at her house with all of her family. Her monthly luncheons with her nieces were very special to her. She enjoyed cooking, especially fried chicken and making homemade ice cream and bread.

She is survived by her four daughters, Sharon Lejeune, Genny (Jackie) Stagg and Christine (Wayne) Lopez, all of Lake Arthur, and Shelia (Jim) Simon of Jennings; two sons, Brent (Claudia) LeJeune and Bryan (Jackie) LeJeune, both of Jennings; three sisters, Hilda Swire of Lake Arthur and Alice LeJeune and Brenda Kolber, both of Jennings; 17 grandchildren, Sherri Clark, Robbie Price, Amber LeDoux, Stacey Stagg, Lisa Smith, Jason Stagg, Lindsey Charles, Rachell Fontenot, Kelly Guidry, Blaine LeJeune, Dusty Lopez, Alisha Roy, Meghan Pellerin, Jerrett Simon, Jade Simon, Cody LeJeune and Dylan LeJeune; 33 great-grandchildren; and 2 great great-grandchildren.

Mrs. LeJeune was preceded in death by the love of her life of 64 years, Robert Lee LeJeune; her parents, Emile and Alice Martin Broussard; stepmother, Dorothy V. Broussard; two sisters, Francis Monceaux and Mary Hardee; seven brothers, Hillard Lawrence, Lee Roy, Clarence, Willy, Joseph and Albert Broussard; and one great-grandchild, Noah Pellerin.
