Mrs. Roy was born in Jennings on Aug. 11, 1944, to Placide Miller and Vina Marie Bergeaux Miller.

She passed away peacefully at her home on Aug. 8, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Roy was a lifelong resident of the Jennings area and graduated from Jennings High School in 1962.

She worked as a teacher’s aide for 21 years. Prior to that, she worked at Montgomery Ward.

She enjoyed the outdoors in all its glory, whether it was just sitting outside on her patio, gardening, fishing or crabbing. Her patio allowed her to enjoy watching the birds, particularly hummingbirds in her yard, and gave her a chance to see the beauty of her flowers.

Mrs. Roy also enjoyed a good game of dominoes, playing card, and scratch-off tickets.

Those left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 60 years, Harry Gene Roy; three daughters, Rhonda Roy and Don Hulin of Lafayette, Karen Roy Sonnier and husband Rusty of Jennings and Regina Roy Moffett and Adam Domengeaux of Conroe, Texas; grandchildren Brittney (Kenneth) Pierce of New Orleans, Ashlyn Campbell of New Orleans and Austin Campbell (fiancée’ Karey Alexander) of Sulphur and her first greatgrandchild, Baby Girl Pierce, due in January of 2023. She is also survived by a brother, Placide Carlton Miller of Jennings.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Susie Miller and a brother, Charles Dewey Miller.

Pallbearers will be Rusty Sonnier, Austin Campbell, Barry Roy, Mike Terry, Geoffrey Roy and Adam Domengeaux.

Honorary pallbearers will be Don Hulin, Nicky Roy and David Trahan.

The family would like to thank Jeff Davis MD Homecare and Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care of Jennings for the wonderful care given.
