It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Glenda Faye Vidrine announces her passing from this life on Sept. 29, 2019, at the age of 71.

A Celebration of Life memorial service for Glenda Faye Vidrine of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, at 10 a.m., with Pastor Josh Belt officiating.

A gathering of her family and friends will be held at the funeral home Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9-11 a.m. Please join her family in remembering such a beautiful life.

Glenda was born in Oakdale to Melvin Vidrine and Mable Fontenot Vidrine on June 2, 1948. Glenda was a daughter, meemaw, great-grandmother, friend, guide, mentor and, most of all, our mother. She loved the outdoors, fishing and cooking for family gatherings. Most of all, she loved spending time with all of her family, especially her grandkids. Glenda was a kind a loving woman who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Glenda is survived by her mother and stepfather, Mable Martin and Wilfred Benny Martin; her sons, Timmy Fontenot and his wife Holly, Shannon Vidrine and his wife Linda, and Robert Bergeaux; her six grandchildren, Gavin Chad Bergeaux, Brady Scott Bergeaux, Blake David Bergeaux, Trace Robert Bergeaux, Amber Vidrine and Ashley Simmons; as well as her great-grandson, Ashton Beter.

Glenda was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Vidrine; and her brother, Melvin Dale Vidrine.
