Funeral services for Gregory James “Smiley” Hebert, 60, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings today, Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, at 2 p.m., with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating. A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019, from 4:30-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. by Deacon Mike Tramel. Visitation will resume today, Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, from 9 a.m. until the time of his service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow Bertrand Cemetery. Gregory was born in Jennings on Oct. 27, 1959, to Albert Hebert and Anna Belle Crochet. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Nov. 27, 2019. Gregory worked as a carpenter. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and riding horses. Most of all, Gregory loved spending time with his family and friends. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Gregory is survived by his five brothers, Gerald Hebert of Roanoke, Chad Hebert of Hathaway, Shawn Hebert of Hathaway, Damon Hebert of Hathaway and J.R. Hebert of Evart, Miss.; and his two sisters, Leah Marlow of Elton and Bethany LeGros of Elton. Gregory was preceded in death by his father, Albert Hebert; his mother, Anna Belle Hebert; and his brother, Kenneth Trahan.
