Jerry Lee ‘Bubba’ Deshotel, Jr.

Memorial services for Jerry Lee “Bubba” Deshotel, Jr., 55, of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, at 12:30 p.m., with Father Charles McMillin officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of his service at 12:30 p.m.

Jerry was born in Jennings on May 25, 1964, to Jerry Deshotel, Sr., and Zula Marie Mire. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on Aug. 5, 2019.

Jerry loved the outdoors, fishing and working on old cars and motorcycles. Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with all of his family and friends. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jerry is survived by his stepfather, Earl McFarlain, Sr.; his two children, Caylem Hanks and Brandon Hanks; his five grandchildren, Jaden, Jordy Jr., Emma, Caylem, Jr., and Zayden; his three brothers, Bret James (Michelle) Deshotel of Lafayette, John Allen (Rachelle) Deshotel of Richmond, Texas, and Earl “Bee” McFarlain, Jr. of Jennings; and his sister, Karen Deshotel of Bastrop, Texas.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Deshotel, Sr., and Zula Marie McFarlain; and his son, Jordy Thibodeaux.
