LAKE ARTHUR - Funeral services for Mr. Larry James Broussard, 71, were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, in Miguez Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, with Rev. Lloyd Whitman officiating.

Funeral home visitation was held from 10 a.m. until time of services Monday.

Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.

Mr. Broussard passed away at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2019, in his residence in Youngsville.

He was a 68-year resident of Lake Arthur and a threeyear resident of Youngsville. He was a truck driver for over 30 years. He served honorably in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Broussard loved all children and had a knack for soothing and quieting crying babies. The apple of his eye and center of his world was his grandson, Eli. He was adored by all his nieces and nephews.

Survivors include two daughters, Kalanie (Mark) Breaux of Lake Arthur and Moriah (Eric) Dugar of Youngsville; two sisters and brothers-in-law, “Kitty” and Corky Yrun of Sierra Vista, Ariz., and LaNeve and Johnny Alejandro, Jr., of Duson; one brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Susan Broussard of Winnie, Texas; one grandson, Eli Dugar; and his brother-in-law and sisterin-law, Luther Reed Duett and Dora Duett.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Sandra; and his parents, Lawrence and Margaret Pearl Whitman Broussard.

Pallbearers were Andy Broussard, Colin Broussard, Cayden Broussard, Jacob Alejandro, Steven Troy Bennett and Tony Bennett.

Honorary pallbearers were Corky Yrun, Steven Austen Bennett and Milfred Newman.
