It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lillie Mae Trahan, 81, of Jennings on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2020, in a long-term care facility.

Funeral services for Lillie Trahan were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel Monday, Aug. 10, 2020, at 1 p.m., with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.

Visitation was held at the funeral home Monday, Aug. 10, from 10 a.m. until the time of her services, with a rosary recited at 12:30 p.m.

Lillie Mae Trahan was laid to rest in Bertrand Cemetery.

Lillie was born in Crowley to Jessie McClelland and Electa Mott McClelland on Feb. 26, 1939. She was raised by Isaac and Emily O’Blanc Young.

Lillie celebrated 49 years of marriage to Allie Roy Trahan before his passing. She enjoyed playing cards, doing word search books, listening to French music, crocheting and telling stories of years gone by. Lillie will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Lillie is survived by her son, Kirk Dale (Karen) Trahan of Hathaway; daughter, Anita Trahan LeGros of Jennings; grandchildren, Amberly (Aaron) Cooper of Iowa, Chet, (Chrissie) Trahan of Lake Charles, Tara Trahan of Hathaway, Paige Fontenot of Jennings and Briana Fontenot of Jennings; great-grandchildren, Alayna Cooper, Jace Cooper and Nicholas “Cole” Villanueva, Jr.; brothers, Darrell Young of Texas, Lloyd Benoit of Vinton, Sylvester McClelland of Vinton and Randall McClelland of Texas; and sisters, Joyce Abshire of Sulphur and Drucilla Forman of Carlyss.

Lillie was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Allie Roy Trahan.

Carrying her to her final resting place will be Kirk Trahan, Chet Trahan, Jerry Ryder, Randall McClelland, Larry McClelland and Sylvester McClelland.
