Loretha was born to Louis Bernard and Euphemie (Fannie) Boudreaux Bernard on April 19, 1927.

Loretha worked as a CNA/private duty nurse for 43 years. Her life was dedicated to those entrusted in her care. She never said no to anyone seeking her service. She was the “female head of our family – our Matriarch.” When she spoke, we all listened. She had a tender and caring heart for anyone who was in need. Her hobby was truly one of service to others, which included visiting the sick in nursing homes, hospitals and in their homes. She was very active in serving her church community in whatever capacity she was needed. Loretha always had a kind word for everyone whom she encountered. Those who were fortunate to meet her can attest to her warm and giving heart. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Loretha is survived by her children, Barbara, (Ira III) Gordon of Bay City, Texas, Patricia Jack of Lake Charles, Dianna Bonner of Bay City, Texas, and Janet Jones of Jennings; her grandchildren, Alisa Gordon, Roshone Tyler, Bashan Jones, Tremaine Jones, Jermaine Jones, Ira (Rocky) Gordon, IV, Louis Jack, Jr., Latoya Jack and Bria Jones.
