It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Margaret Ann Drake Engleton announces her passing from this life on June 16, 2020, at the age of 57.

Funeral services for Margaret Ann Drake Engleton, 57, of Alexandria will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 27, 2020, with Pastor Craig Sam officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home Saturday, June 27, 2020, from 8 a.m. until the time of her funeral service.

Margaret will be laid to rest in Silverwood Cemetery following her funeral service.

Margaret was born in Lafayette to Samuel Drake and Emily Duplichan Drake on Oct. 15, 1962.

Margaret dedicated her life to the care of her family. Margaret loved playing bingo and cards. Her passion in life was her husband, children and grandchildren, and her greatest joys came from spending time and making memories with all her family and friends. She was a kind and loving person, and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left behind to cherish their memories of Margaret are her husband, Herbert Engleton, Jr. of Alexandria; her son, Michael Henry of Houston, Texas; her two daughters, Keisha Savoy of Lafayette and Lesley Engleton of Atlanta, Ga.; her four grandchildren, Keioana Savoy, Omarion Savoy, Demitius Henry and Ellis Engleton; her greatgrandchild, Ac’syn Savoy; her sisters, Barbara (Charles) Onezine, Donna (Jacoby) Menard, April Drake (Michael), Marie Beverly and Louwilda Arceneaux, all of Crowley, Katrina Collins of Lafayette, Stephanie and (Darrel) Hicks of Texas and Signora (Kirt) Camouche of Baltimore, Md.; her brothers, Bryan (Tracy) Drake, Sr., of Humble, Texas, Samuel Drake, Sr., Eddie Collins of Crowley, Judson Collins and Trevor Allen of Texas, Paul (Yolanda) Drake of Lafayette, Sammy Drake, Steve (Latoya) Allen of Fort Smith, Alaska, and Donald Lazard of California.

Margaret is now resting in Heaven with the family that preceded her in death, including her parents, Samuel and Emily D. Drake; her grandchild, Moani Savoy; her sister, Brenda Collins; and her brothers, Henry L. Drake, Kenneth Drake, Sr., Jessie Collins and Raymond Collins.
