Margaret “Ann” Moore Lambert of Taylor Lake Village, Texas, formerly of Roanoke, passed away at 5:28 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, 2020.

Mrs. Lambert was cremated.

Because of current stay-athome orders, a funeral service will be held at a later date.

Ann was born in Natchez, Miss., and was adopted at the age of 3 months by Gerald and Grace Moore.

She was raised in Roanoke and graduated as valedictorian of Roanoke High School Class of 1951. She married Hubert “Norris” Lambert of Kinder on April 15, 1952, in Roanoke. After the birth of their son, Kent, in Jennings, they moved to Boston and then Maine, North Dakota, California, Arizona, New Jersey, Germany, Florida and finally, Houston, Texas. Once settled in the Clear Lake/NASA area, Ann volunteered for Bay Area Meals on Wheels and eventually became the president of that organization. She served in that post for well over 20 years before retiring in her early 80s.

Survivors include her children, Kent and Rosemary Lambert of Millville, N.J., Sande and Danny Wendt of Seabrook, Texas, Kyle and Marcia Lambert of Suwanee, Ga., and Ross Lambert and Caroline Dodge of Seattle, Wash.; eight grandchildren; and Dancer, beloved Malamute number 3.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert “Norris” Lambert; her parents, Gerald Gordon Moore and Grace McCourt Moore; her brother, Jerry Moore; and her fur babies D.D., beloved Malamute number 1 and Niko, beloved Malamute number 2.
