It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Margie Jane Bergeaux Cormier announces her passing from this life on March 27, 2020, at the age of 87.

Graveside services for Margie Jane Bergeaux Cormier, 87, of Jennings were held at Calvary Cemetery in Jennings on Sunday, March 29, 2020, at 2 p.m.

A gathering of family and friends was held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Sunday, March 29, from 11 a.m. until the time of her graveside service at 2 p.m.

Burial followed in Calvary Cemetery.

Margie was born in Tee Mamou to Adrian Bergeaux and Effie Doucet Bergeaux on Jan. 8, 1933. Margie was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family. She loved to cook, play Bingo, go to the Casino and play cards with her family. Margie also enjoyed talking on the phone and being co-owner of Hayes Cleaners. Most of all, she loved spending time and making memories with all of her family. Margie was a kind and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Margie is survived by her two sons, Ricky Cormier (Sherry) of Jennings and Larry Cormier of Jennings; her daughters, Jo Ann Fain (Tommy) of Mandeville and Phyllis Maynard (Charlie Broussard) of Jennings; her seven grandchildren, Dustin, Jessica, Staci, Kelli, Corey, Mitch and Doug; her 12 great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Rodney Bergeaux (Wanda) of Jennings and Murry “Keno” Bergeaux of Hathaway; and her sister, Ruth Crochet of Jennings.

Margie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hayes Cormier; her son, Chris Bergeaux; her parents, Adrian and Effie Bergeaux; her brothers, Richard Bergeaux, Ervin Bergeaux, Julius Bergeaux, Vernon Bergeaux and Terry Bergeaux; her sisters, Vina Miller, Mildred Fontenot, Hannah Miller and Ethel Ardoin; and her great-grandson, Ryan Cary Sonnier.

Those chosen to honor Margie as her Pallbearers will be Dustin Cormier, Corey Cormier, Mitch Fain, Doug Fain, Conner Cormier and Kobe Sonnier.

Honorary pallbearers will be Braxton Breaux, Lane Breaux, Cohen Cormier and Ashton Fain.
