The family and friends of Marie Touchet are mourning the loss of their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who was called from this life unexpectedly on Jan. 22, 2023, at the age of 84.

Funeral services to honor Marie’s life will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jennings on Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, at 2 p.m., with Father Trey Ange’ officiating.

Visitation will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6 p.m. The family requests that visitation resume Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, from 8 a.m. until the time of her service at 2 p.m. Services will conclude at church, with burial following at a later date in Pine Island Cemetery.

Marie was born April 27, 1938, to Jeff Miller and Louise Miller.

Marie was a homemaker and babysitter who dedicated her life to the care of her family which she adored. She loved talking on the phone, word puzzles, watching soap operas, going shopping, watching wrestling and watching football, as well as eating out and spending time with her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.

Most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Marie was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Marie is survived by her children, Earl “Porky” Touchet (Kathy Boudoin) and Rachel “Buffy” Touchet (Chris Matthews); her grandchildren, Dustin Touchet and friend and Kisha Touchet, and her fiancée, Erik Reichert; granddog Gabby; her great-grandchildren, Ava Hardy, Clara Touchet, Alan Touchet, Bryan Touchet, Jack Reichert and Lillian Reichert on the way; her sister, Francis Miller and her adopted grandchildren, Chrissie Herrera, Kim Landry, Brandon Landry, Dee Landry, Julieonna Robin, Heather Hebert and Stacy Lavergne.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff Miller and Louise Reed; her beloved husband, Earl Touchet; her siblings, Rodney Miller, Bob Miller, Jean Hebert, George Miller, Fred Miller and Neil Pellegrin; one great-grandson, Dustin Touchet, Jr.and her grand dog, Rocky.

The family of Marie wishes to express their sincere and heartfelt thanks to Lamm Family Care and The Therapy Center, especially Krista and Drew and the ICU nurses of Jennings American Legion Hospital for their kindness and the exceptional care shown to Marie during her illness.
