The family of Ms. Paulette Curet Henry Smith, lovingly known as Polly, sadly announces the loss of their loved one on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021. Polly passed away surrounded by her loving family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation will be under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Polly was born Oct. 9, 1948, in Jennings to Mr. Charles and Edolia (Buller) Curet. She was a very talented and loving individuaL Polly gave of herself and always left her mark on everyone she met.

To many she was known as Nanny, whether family or not. Her achievements included owning a ceramic shop, working as a telephone operator, overseeing the Tupper Museum and coordinating all festivals and parades for the city of Jennings for numerous years. She served her community in a multitude of local groups including Garden Club, Arts Council, and Council on Aging. Her latest adventure was becoming the proud owner of Main Street Antiques and Interiors. She was also an avid animal lover and animal activist.

Her most enjoyable moments were being a second mother and grandmother to all her family.

Those left to continue her legacy are her sister, Brenda Hardee; her brother-in-law and best friend, Jimmie Hardee; brothers, Chuck and Bill Curet; eight nieces; two nephews; and eight great-nephews.

Preceding her in death are her parents; sisters, Debbie Lantz and Charlene Miller; and the love of her life, Rodney “Baybay” Henry, Sr.
