It’s with heavy hearts and great sadness that the family and friends of Percy Crochet announce his passing from this life on April 21, 2019, at the age of 85.

Funeral services for Percy Joseph Crochet, 85, will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Thursday, April 25, 2019, at 2 p.m., with Father Susil Fernando officiating.

The Crochet family requests that visitation be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 2-9 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, April 25, from 9 a.m. until the time of his funeral service.

Burial will follow in Bertrand Cemetery with Full Military Rites.

Percy was born in Hathaway to Amelian “Dago” Crochet and Avenia Breaux Crochet on Oct. 19, 1933.

Percy served our country honorably in the Army. He worked in the oilfield as a tool pusher and was a member of the VFW. Percy loved the outdoors. He liked to take care of his yard and fish. He also liked to watch football and the news. He especially loved the time he spent with his beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Percy is survived by his one son, Curtis Crochet (Dorothy) of Kaplan; eight grandchildren, Chasity Crochet, Racheal Schooley, Chance Crochet, Brittany Crochet, Danielle Crochet, Curtis “C.J.” Crochet, Jr., Brandi Crochet and Misty Crochet; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Lorita Crochet; his two sons, Dennis and Leonard Crochet; and his daughter, Beverly Crochet.

Carrying Percy to his final resting place will be Chad Crochet, Chance Crochet, Curtis Crochet, Jr., Danielle Crochet, Chasity Crochet and Curtis Crochet.
