Preston ‘Prim’ Bob Primeaux

Preston “Prim” Bob Primeaux, 71, of Lake Arthur passed away Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at Hixson Funeral Home in Welsh, with Reverend Pamela Roy officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. today, Tuesday, and will continue from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Thornwell Cemetery in the Thornwell community.

Preston was born on May 22, 1947, in Abbeville.

Preston was a man of God who loved and cared for his family deeply. He was a weigh master for Thornwell Warehouse Association for over 48 years. Preston was known for his vegetable garden which he shared with his friends and family. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 48 years, Janie Primeaux of Thornwell; daughter, Melissa Lawrence and husband, Kenneth, of Welsh; son, Anthony Primeaux of Lake Arthur; five grandchildren, Carlie Primeaux, Seth Lawrence, Kate Lawrence, Tucker Primeaux and Hannah Primeaux; a brother, Presley Primeaux and wife, Diana, of Lake Arthur; and two sisters, Betty Jean Dupre and Mildred Frederick, both of Vinton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph “Joe” Primeaux and Mary “Louisa” Frederick Primeaux; and a brother, Billy Primeaux.
