Rev. Robert J. ‘Bob’ Bollich

Graveside services for Rev. Robert J. “Bob” Bollich, 87, of Jennings were held at 3 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery on Sunday, May 12, 2019, with Dr. Jeff Cook officiating.

Arrangements were entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home.

A short gathering of friends and family was held from 2 p.m. until time to leave for the cemetery.

Rev. Bollich was born on Oct. 6, 1931, in Jennings to parents William and Myrtle Wagnon Bollich. After high school he attended Louisiana College in Pineville and the University of Texas at Austin. During his time at UT, he felt God calling him into the ministry. He was drafted into the Army during the Korean conflict.

Bob and Liz married in 1956 and she followed her husband to Germany where he was stationed. Upon returning home from the service, Bob and Liz completed their educations and began their family while he pastored Scott Baptist Mission. He received his master’s degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Bob taught junior high and high school in Iota for 25 years, during which time he also pastored Evangeline Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Iota. Upon retirement, he moved back to Jennings and served as a deacon at FBC Jennings.

He is survived by a daughter, Debby (Derek) Guillory of Pineville and a son, Stephen Bollich of Eunice; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Elizabeth “Liz” Firestone Bollich; and his parents.
