Ronald ‘Ronnie’ Robicheaux

Ronald “Ronnie” Robicheaux, 82, of Welsh passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019.

The family will welcome friends Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019, from 3-9 p.m., with a Rosary beginning at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Monday beginning at 8 a.m.

Funeral services will be led by Father Alan Trouille at Our Lady of Seven Dolors beginning at 11 a.m.

Ronnie will be laid to rest in Oaklawn Cemetery.

He was born on July 29, 1937, the third child to Leo and Clemy Robicheaux, and was a lifelong resident of Welsh. His love in life was to cause side-splitting laughter over a joke or story he was telling, as well as a few good pranks. In his off-time, he enjoyed fishing and mowing anyone’s lawn on his trusty Snapper. If you caught him at home, it would be on his favorite couch watching Westerns.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sybil; a son; Nathan (Kathy) Robicheaux Sr.; a sister, Leora Axe; three brothers, Cedric (Betty) Robicheaux, Terry (Ida Mae) Robicheaux and Ralen (Lorraine) Robicheaux, all of Welsh; six grandchildren, Brandon “Duke” Robicheaux, Jennie Robicheaux, Melissa (Clinton) Bertrand, Nathan Robicheaux, Jr., Jennifer Robicheaux and Kayloni (Mike) Jeane; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Wade “Bear” Robicheaux.
