Funeral services for Mr. Ronald Clifford Shultz, 89, of Jennings will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021, at Miguez Funeral Home South Chapel, with Rev. Eric Sonnier and Bro. Brian Wells officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Shultz will be held Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Mr. Shultz passed away peacefully on Nov. 29, 2021, in his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Jan. 19, 1932, in Beaumont, Texas, to Ralph and Edna Earl Shultz. After graduation from Jennings High School Class of 1950, he attended Texas Christian University and graduated from the University of Louisiana, then SLI.

He served his country in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. After his college graduation, he was employed by Standard Oil and Gas, which is now AMOCO. Mr. Shultz became a petroleum landman until his retirement in 2005.

Mr. Shultz served on the Jeff Davis Parish School Board. He was appointed to the Louisiana Board of Commerce and Industry under Gov. Dave Treen. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Jennings. He also served as a board member for American Bank and served on the Louisiana Oil and Gas Museum Authority Park.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Sarah Billingsley Shultz; two daughters, Kelly Shultz Low of Edmond, Okla., and Laurie (Martin Le Sieur) Shultz Drukteinis of Baton Rouge; his sister, Barbara Graf of Little Rock, Ark.; his sister-in-law, Monika Shultz; four grandchildren, Casey Druga, Will (Sara) Low, Holly (San) Low and Pierce (Emma) Low; two great-grandchildren, Finley Druga and Allison Low; and numerous nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Terry Shultz; and a sister, June McGehee.

Pallbearers will be Martin Le Sieur, Will Low, Pierce Low, John McGehee, Dana Green and Walter Trahan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph “Smitty” Smith, Jim Riley, Fenner Weller and his group of coffee buddies.
