A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2022, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point for Rosa Belle Foreman Lopez, 93, who died at 1:55 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, 2022.

Fr. Clint Trahan, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, will officiate the services. The family requests visiting hours be held today, Wednesday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m., and will continue Thursday from 8 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today, Wednesday.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Geesey Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.

Mrs. Rosa was a food service technician at Lyons Point School and spent 20 years at the cafeteria at St. Michaels School. She sang in the choir at St. John the Baptist Church and loved dancing.

Mrs. Lopez is survived by one sister, Elgene Foreman Breaux; nieces/nephews and spouses, Sheryl Breaux, Edward “T-Boy” (Kristi) Breaux, Bradley (Rhonda) Breaux, Cynthia (Charles) Ashby, Gwen (Ronnie) Lacomb, Susan (Wayne) Trahan, Clay Foreman, Mike (Tammy) Foreman, Tony Breaux and Tammy (David) Moore; one stepdaughter, Betty Joyce (Henry) Fontenot; three stepsons, James “Pep” (Phobe) Lopez, Ernest “Blackie” (Melba Lou) Lopez and Harold “Bozo” (Sandra) Lopez; step son-in-law Lloyd Dartez; 21 step grandchildren, 44 step great-grandchildren, 32 step great great grandchildren and one on the way in December and his godchildren, Lester Foreman, Brenda Broussard Guidry and Edward “T-Boy” Breaux.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lopez; her parents, Willie and Felicia Broussard Foreman; brother Ibray Bernard “IB” Foreman; sister-in-law Anite Marie Thibodeaux Abbey; brother-in-law Eddie Joseph Breaux; paternal grandparents Isaac Foreman and Eda DuBois Foreman; maternal grandparents Oscar Broussard and Rosa Broussard Broussard; stepchildren Stella Cora Lopez and Wilma “Jane” Dartez and Elroy “Picante” Lopez; step grandchildren Jason Lopez, Rye Dartez and Peggy Fontenot and great nephews Dustin Joseph Lacomb, James Clay Foreman and Paul Gilbert Adams.

Pallbearers will be Edward Wayne “T-Boy” Breaux, Bradley James Breaux, Tony Breaux, Mike Foreman, David Moore and Blake Dartez.

Our family would like to thank all the caregivers and the Lamm Home Health/Hospice team, who have helped us through this journey of our lives. We are grateful to all.
