Rose Lurlene Mallett

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Lurlene Mallett, 87, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, March 22, 2019, in Miguez Funeral Home chapel, with Pastor Adam Mallett, Jr., officiating.

Funeral home visitation will be held from 8:30 a.m. Friday until time of services.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Mallett died at 2:16 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2019, in Golden Age Nursing Home of Welsh.

Mrs. Mallett was a lifelong resident of the area. She loved to garden and to take care of animals. She was a member of Roanoke United Methodist and was a past president and life member of VFW Auxiliary 3686.

Survivors include her daughter, Theresa Meche of Welsh; three sons, Allen (Felicia) and David (Brenda) Mallett, both of Welsh, and Ronnie Mallett of Jennings; one brother, Winfrey Mitchell of DeRidder; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Callie Shirley and Alice “Verda” Eason Mitchell; her husband of 57 years, Albert Mallett; two sisters, Audrey Martin and Darlene Hickman; and one brother, Raymond Mitchell.
