Mrs. LeLeux was born Sept. 13, 1941, in Jennings to David A. L. Bowers, Sr. and Henrietta Bolline Bowers. She completed one year of college and went on to teach. She was a lifelong member of the Welsh community and was a member of Welsh United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and started a sewing ministry with her friend, Shirley Hudson, for those in need. She loved sewing and used her talents to make costumes for productions held at the Strand Theatre. Mrs. LeLeux also enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening and many in the community benefited from those talents, as well. She loved spending time with her family and she was known as a precious lady who often put others before herself.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Mark Wayne LeLeux of Welsh and Scott James LeLeux of Bainbridge, Penn.; two sisters, Dianne Young of California and Carolyn Ducharme of Vinton; one brother, David A. L. Bowers, Jr., of Welsh; and three grandchildren, Elle’ Renee Watkins, Jessica LeLeux Crowe and Jayce LeLeux.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Gerald LeLeux; and her brother, Weldon Bowers.
