A Celebration of Life will be held for Mr. Terry Lane Royer, 59, of Jennings on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at 11 a.m. in First Baptist Church of Jennings, with Dr. Jeff Cook and Rev. Brian Wells officiating.

Visitation for Mr. Royer will be held Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Miguez Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 9 a.m. until time of services.

Cremation is under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Mr. Royer was a lifelong resident of Jennings. He graduated from Jennings High School in 1977. He worked as a sales manager in beverage sales. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club and Jennings Quarterback Club. Many will remember him as the voice of the Jennings Bulldogs on Friday nights. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed his grandchildren immensely. He especially enjoyed cooking on any holiday or occasion, and the more the merrier.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Elia and Leitha Smith Royer; a sister, Barbara Serrin; and a brother, Billy Royer.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lisa Gaudet Royer; two daughters, Arian Royer of Lafayette and Bethany (David) Janise of Jennings; two sisters, Lena Dupuis and Brenda (Carl) Green, both of Jennings; two brothers, Clavin (Kathy) Royer of New Iberia and Melvin Royer of Lafayette; and three precious grandchildren, Andria, Gavin and Jode Janise. He also loved his grandcats, Sally Bug and Birdie.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the JHS Athletic Department.
