The family and friends of Valerie Lynn Rink are mourning the loss of their mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who was called from this life on Nov. 7, 2022, at the age of 71.

Valerie’s family has decided to honor her wishes of cremation and may announce a memorial service at a later date.

Valerie was born in Morgan City to Sterling T. Rink and Amy Aucoin Rink on April 27, 1951. She was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family.

Valerie loved Star Wars and enjoyed playing World of Warcraft. She loved reading sci-fi novels. Her favorite authors included Anne McCaffery and André Norton.

Her greatest joys came from spending time and making memories with all of her family. She was a loving and kindhearted woman and will be immensely missed by all who loved her.

Those left to cherish the memories of Valerie are her two children, Dawn Lea Nolen and P.J. Nolen; her sisters, Pam Dubois, Phyllis Rink, Janelle Ourso and Lynette Rink; her grandchildren, Vincent, Katherine and Kayla Batcheller, Bella and Tia Nolen and Crystal Quinney; one great-grandchild; six nieces; 10 nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Valerie is now with the family that preceded in death her parents, Amy Aucoin and Sterling Rink, and her sister, Karen Rink.
