On Thursday, the 25th day of November 2021, Vicki Belle Pete departed this life at the age of 71, at Camelot Brookside Assisted Living Facility in Jennings.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at 9 a.m. and funeral service at 11 a.m. at King’s Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in Benevolent Cemetery in Jennings under the direction of King’s Funeral Home, with the repast at Union Baptist Church Family Living Center in Jennings.

She was born March 29, 1950, to the late Edmond and Mary Katherine Jones, Sr.

Vicki was a beautiful soul who never met a stranger. As she became a grandmother, her name changed from Mom to Meemaw. She loved music, singing, dancing, sewing, playing word games and watching the Game Show network where her favorite show was Family Feud.

She leaves to mourn her two children with ex-husband Lawrence (Sally) Pete, Jr., daughters, Jurea (Alec) Williams of Las Vegas, Nev., and Anitra Pete-Alexander of San Antonio, Texas; sisters Shirley (Neal) Harris of Chicago, Ill., Maxine Guillory of Baton Rouge, Jackie Dorsey of Houston, Texas, and Geraldine (Frank) Jackson of Rochester, N.Y.; sisters-in-love, Beverly Ann Perkins of Jennings, Carolyn Pete of Moss Bluff, Michelle Pete of Houston, Texas, and Loretta Pete of Oakland, Calif.; brother Ellis (Deborah) Jones of Jasper, Texas; brothers-in-love, Clarence (Sara) Pete of Jennings, George (Truby) Pete of Olympia, Wash., and Terence (Gloria) Pete of LaCrosse, Va.; grandchildren, Alecsys (Tianna) Williams of Las Vegas, Nev., Darien (Maggie) Pete of Chaparrel, N.M., Alec Williams, Jr., of Las Vegas, Nev., Tremayne (Stephanie) Pete of San Antonio, Texas, Michelle Estelle of Saint Petersburg, Fla., and Jona (Ni’Shell) Alexander of San Antonio, Texas; and greatgrandchildren Auriona, Alivia, Giselle, Jordyn, Darien, Jr., Princess, Heiress and Jaylen.

Vicki also leaves to mourn a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the remaining members of the Class of 1968 from Jeff Davis High School.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Mary Katherine Jones; sisters Jane Williams, Katherine Williams and Alice Jones; and brothers Edmond Jones, Sr., and Charles Jones.
