Wayland Deshotel

A gathering of family and friends for Mr. Wayland Deshotel, 63, of Campti was held Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, from noon until 9 p.m. in Miguez Funeral Home chapel.

Mr. Deshotel passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2019, at Willis Knighton Hospital in Shreveport.

He was born on Nov. 29, 1955, in Jennings to parents Joseph and Norma Young Deshotel. He was a resident of Hathaway for a number of years before moving to Campti. He was an electrician in the paper mills. Mr. Deshotel enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his daughters, April (Melvin) Gotreaux of Crowley and Tearza Marceaux of Hathaway; his sons, Jason Deshotel of Crowley and D.J. Marceaux of Hathaway; sisters, Sue (Mike) Fontenot of DeRidder, Pam (O’Neil) Dartez of Crowley, Nadine (Ray) Dees of Jennings and Betty (Curtis Thibodeaux) LeLeaux of Lacassine; brothers, Jimmy Deshotel of Little Chenier and J.R. Deshotel of Newelton; 12 grandchildren, with one more on the way; and two greatgrandchildren on the way.

Mr. Deshotel was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mona Deshotel; and a brother, Kenneth Deshotel.
