It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Winston Guillory, 63, of Jennings announce his passing from this life on Aug. 4, 2020.

Funeral services for Winston Guillory of Jennings will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings Friday, |Aug. 7, 2020, at 3 p.m.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home today, Thursday, Aug. 6, from 3-9 p.m. and will resume Friday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. until the time of his funeral service.

Winston will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery following his service.

Winston was born in Mamou to Claude Guillory and Juanita Fontenot Guillory on May 12, 1957. Winston worked as a police officer for over 30 years. He worked for JPD from 1987 until 2015, LAPD from 2016-2017, Coushatta Tribal Police from 2017 until 2019, and was currently with JDPSO since 2019. He loved all his brothers and sisters in blue and his church family. In his spare time, Winston loved making duck calls and doing leather work. Most of all, Winston loved spending time and making memories with his family, his wife, his children and his grandchildren. Winston was a kind and loving man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left behind to cherish Winston’s memories are his wife, Sandra M. Guillory of Jennings; his son, Claude Guillory (Melanie) of Elton; his daughter, Faith Guillory of Jennings; his seven grandchildren, Hunter, Brennen, Baylee, Andersen, Addisen, Alixandre and Lillian; his great-grandson to be, Hudson Winston Bertrand; his brother, Darren Guillory (Renee) of Dry Creek; his three sisters, Janise McGee (Danny) of Dry Creek, Phyllis LaFleur of Basile and Connie Sonnier (John) of Jennings.

Winston was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Juanita Guillory.

Those chosen to honor him as pallbearers will be Hunter Bertrand, Brennen Bertrand, Ike LaFleur, Keagan Sonnier, Eric Stroderd and Zach Sonnier.

Honorary pallbearer will be Andersen Oustalet.
