LAKE ARTHUR - Funeral services for Richard Ross “Roscoe” Broussard, 55, of Lake Arthur will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church at 11 a.m., with Father Jay Alexius officiating.

Visitation will begin today, Friday, Aug. 31, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. until 9 p.m., with a Cursillo Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume Saturday morning from 8 a.m. until service time.

Burial will follow in Hebert Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Mr. Broussard was born in Jennings on Dec. 22, 1962, the only son of Ronald Richard Broussard and Roselyn Marie Hay. He was a high school graduate of St. Maria Goretti Class of 1981 and lived in the community all of his life.

Ross was an avid fan of football and WWE. The LSU Tigers and the New Orleans Saints were his favorite teams. He was also a huge fan of music, especially country and Cajun music. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was a very loving and protective brother, uncle and son. Ross was known as a kind and gentle soul with a huge heart who never knew a stranger. He will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Rana (Mahlon) LeBlanc of Lake Arthur, Ronya (Chad) Guillory of Sulphur and Reesa (Richard)Lege of Gueydan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ronald Richard Broussard and Roselyn Marie Hay; and his nephew, Ryan Lee Guillory.

Carrying Mr. Broussard to his final resting place will be pallbearers Richard Lege, Chad Guillory, Mahlon LeBlanc, Nick Lege, Trey Guillory, Dylan LeBlanc and Andre LeBlanc.

Honorary pallbearers are Michael Authement, Gavin Clary, Shannon Hay and Scotty Meaux.
