Robert ‘Bob’ Turner Dupre’

Robert “Bob” Turner Dupre’, 77, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Jennings American Legion Hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of Welsh. He was born on Oct. 26, 1940, in Jennings. He graduated from Welsh High School in 1958, and later graduated from Northeast Louisiana State School of Pharmacology in 1967. He was a pharmacist at Dupre’ Drugs for 30 years, dispensing wit and wisdom with every prescription filled. After his retirement, he was a police juror for Jeff Davis Parish and a part-time employee in the town of Welsh. Bob was a friend to all he met. He enjoyed fancy cars, nice clothes and mowing yards.

He was devoted to his loving wife and friend of 59 years, Claire Dupre’; one son, Kyle Dupre’ and husband Mathew Lefkowitz of New York, N.Y.; two daughters, Dawn Dupre’ and husband Andrea Petrucci of Milan, Italy, and Jill Dupre’ and husband Josh Mayer of New Orleans; one brother, Billy Dupre’ and wife Nancy of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Diane Gay of Philo, Ill., Kathi Soileau and husband Sidney of Grapevine, Texas, and Sue Dupre’ and husband Wayne Latham of Ft. Collins, Colo.; and four grandchildren, David Petrucci, Miriam Petrucci, Mathilda Mayer and Mose Mayer.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, E.W. and Neil Dupre’.

A graveside service was held at Oaklawn Cemetery in Welsh at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 6, 2018, with Pastor Angela Bulhof officiating.
