LAKE ARTHUR - It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Robert “Radio”/”Bob” Mac Murray announces his passing from this life on March 17, 2018 at the age of 70, while surrounded by his loving family.

Funeral services honoring Robert’s life were held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur on Monday, March 19, 2018, at 6 p.m., with Jeremy Damiata and Jerry Snider officiating.

A gathering of family and friends was held at the funeral home on Monday, March 19, from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Robert’s family will be honoring his wishes of cremation after his service and his burial will be announced at a later date in Andrus Cove Cemetery.

Robert “Radio”/”Bob” was born to Willie Murray and Lucille Landry Murray on Nov. 20, 1947. Robert served our country honorably in Vietnam while he was enlisted in the Navy. He then went on to become a Department Manager of Kroger for 32 years, a job in which he loved and worked at until he retired. Robert loved being outdoors, especially when he was doing his yard work. He also loved helping people, especially his elders. Although his greatest joy was spending time with his family, and friends, especially his children and grandchildren. Robert never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Robert is survived by his wife, Patricia Murray of Lake Charles; his seven children, Tabiatha Murray of Lake Arthur, Monica Abshire (Tobby) of Lake Arthur, Courtney Murray of Lake Charles, Brandee Papillion (Tyrone) of Lake Charles, Vickie Buckman of Lake Charles, Wes Carr of Sunset and Casey Carr of Lake Charles; his two sisters, Carol Hebert (Tony) of Lake Arthur and Sherry Duhon (Joe) of Lake Arthur; as well as 13 grandchildren, Earldrick and Tationna Hall, Brooklyn and Baislee Papillion, Lexie, Balaur, Peyton and Xander Abshire, Makayla Murray, Cameran Ceasar, Mason and Andrew Buckman and Kaleb Carr.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Lucille Murray; his son, Brandon Bennie; and his two sisters, Rose Morvant and Helen LaFosse.
