Roland was born in Jennings on Aug. 11, 1945, to Magloire Crochet and Norie Morvant Crochet. He was called to his Heavenly Father on Aug. 7, 2018.

Funeral services honoring Roland’s life will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings today, Friday, Aug. 10, 2018, at 3 p.m., with Reverend Pat Deshotel officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Aug. 10, and will continue until the time of his funeral service at 3 p.m.

Burial will follow in Bertrand Cemetery.

Roland worked as a truck driver, a job which he enjoyed. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 232 of Welsh. Roland loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, working in his yard and going to Lisa’s camp. Most of all, Roland loved spending time with all his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He was a kind a gentle man that was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish Roland’s memory is his special friend, Joan Matte of Lacassine; his three sons, Chris Crochet (Cheryl) of Kaplan, Shane Crochet of Odesa, Texas, and Joseph Crochet; his daughter, Lisa Crochet Meaux (Trent) of Meaux; his two sisters, Linda Cormier (Travis) of Rayne and Magloira Sonnier (Dewy) of Lake Arthur; his nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren

Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Magloire and Norie Crochet; his three daughters, Darle Marie Crochet, Roxanne Crochet and Kimberly Crochet; his seven brothers, Rodney Crochet, Clayton Ravey, Syryl Crochet, Romus Crochet, Emile Crochet, Herman Crochet and Lee Roy Crochet; and his two sisters, Ethel Ravey and Effie Ravey Trahan.
