ELTON - Thelma D. Allison, 85, departed this life on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at Golden Chain Baptist Church, with Rev. Dwayne Miller officiating.

Visitation will be held Saturday from 9-11 a.m. at the church.

Burial will be in Eternal Rest Cemetery under the direction of Stevens’ Funeral Home of Lake Charles.

A resident of Elton, she fought tirelessly to bring HUD programs and weatherization programs to the citizens of Elton.

She attended McNeese State University where she studied nursing and worked for Jeff Davis Parish schools as a cafeteria technician at Elton High School for 21 years.

She was a loyal and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was generous with her time, resources and wisdom, especially with her grandchildren.

She leaves to cherish her memory one son, Warren (Talita) Allison of New Orleans; two daughters, Charlesetta Allison of Bossier City and Andrea (Robert) Boutte of Lake Charles; one sister, Lucille Tallerson of Brooklyn, N.Y.; a loving sister-in-law, Ida M. Ceasar of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother-in-law, Wilbur Allison of Fenton; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her biological and adoptive parents; one brother, Robert Manuel; her husband, Jessie C. Allison; one daughter, Jeanette Duhon; and one son, Jerome Allison.
