LAKE ARTHUR – The Lake Arthur Lady Tigers captured their eighth victory in a row Thursday night when they demolished the Church Point Lady Bears 64-31 at “Nookie” Moore Gymnasium. The win moves the Lady Tigers out to an impressive 17-4 record overall. Lake Arthur leaned heavily on senior Kali Hornsby and sophomore Vivian Sketoe, as they duo combined for 51 of Lake Arthur’s 64 points. Sketoe drilled six 3-point bombs in the contest. The Lady Tigers are back in action on Tuesday when they travel to Lake Charles to face a talented Barbe squad in their last non-district game before league play begins.
KINDER – The Lacassine Cardinals made the short trek over to Kinder and pummeled the Yellow Jackets by a final of 76-58. The win moves the Cards out to an impressive 19-5 overall, and extended their win streak to eight straight games. Lacassine used dominant performances by Aaron Garcia and Kane Broussard to help lead the way. The duo combined for 46 points and drilled 10 3-pointers between the two of them. The Cards were back in action Friday night when they traveled to Reeves to take on the Raiders in their last tuneup before district play begins.
