BASILE — For the second week in a row, the Lake Arthur Tigers were forced to play on a Saturday after the weather caused the cancellation of a scheduled contest. This time however, the Tigers started their game and had it interrupted. The Tigers and Basile Bearcats played 10 minutes of their Friday contest before heavy rain and lightning forced them to reschedule the following day at 11 am. Lake Arthur held a 6-0 lead and tons of momentum before the weather came, but the Bearcats ultimately rallied on Saturday to claim a 35-12 victory to open the season.
WELSH — The Welsh Greyhounds are looking for a football game. After getting rained out and getting canceled by lightning last week in the Elton Jamboree, the Hounds were forced to relinquish a 14-0 advantage over the Kinder Yellow Jackets.
