An area non-profit organization continues to help those in need throughout the parish. Catholic Charities of Southwest Louisiana (CCSL) continues to hold its money food distribution in Jeff Davis Parish. Volunteers hand out groceries to those who qualify.
The Town of Lake Arthur hosted the Sound of Small Town America music competition. Residents competed for a chance to perform live on stage at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tenn. The event is sponsored by the Inspirational Country Music Association.
