During the February meeting of Knights of Columbus (KC) Council 2012 from Our Lady Help of Christians (OLHC) Parish in Jennings, Michael Cassidy (right) was recognized as the Council’s Knight of the Month for January. Past Grand Knight Glenn McFarlain (left) presented the award. Michael has been a member of the Knights of Columbus since October of 1999. Since he joined the Council, he has participated in every Tootsie Roll Drive for which he received notice. The efforts of his Brother Knights and he on this project have resulted in thousands of dollars being raised to support programs which benefit God’s Special Angels. Michael has also helped with the barbecue fundraisers by selling advance tickets, helping set up the traffic pattern for drive-through customers, and selling tickets to drivethrough customers on the day of the barbecue. He also assisted with cooking the main course of the meals, and with assisting in the distribution of the meals. Michael has also prepared meals served at monthly KC meetings. He has provided legal advice to the Council leadership on many important issues. His legacy of Knighthood continues as his son Elliott is also a member of KC Council 2012. Michael has participated in many activities which have benefitted several legal organizations. He has also been active in projects which have helped OLHC Parish, the city of Jennings and Jeff Davis Parish.
