Jeff Davis Communities Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) is spreading awareness this January during National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month and reminding citizens that the growing threat can affect small communities like Jennings.
The average teen enters the sex trade in the U.S. at 12-14 years old. Because our city is located just off a major Interstate, many runaways or underage victims are easily targeted here. In most cases, victims are subjected to force, fraud or coercion for the purpose of sexual exploitation or forced labor.
