The Jeff Davis Parish School Board has modified, but only slightly, its ban on long hair for male students attending classes this fall.
In its annual listing of what will be considered proper dress and grooming for students in grades 6-12, the board issued a statement on boys' hair which said, "Students' hair must be clean, neatly groomed, not bizarre or worn to call undue attention to the wearer, nor worn conspicuously to symbolize extreme attitudes"
