It will be two years this summer that my smaller dog, Belle, had surgery to fix her completely torn CCL, which is comparable to the ACL in humans. She needed a T-shaped plate put into her leg and months of at-home physical therapy. It was a serious and exhausting but bonding experience, and now she can no longer go through airport security.

Knights of Columbus Council 2012 from Our Lady Help of Christians (OLHC) Parish in Jennings conducted their annual Basketball Free Throw Competition at Our Lady Immaculate Elementary School gymnasium on Saturday, Feb. 1.

When others are in serious difficulty, sick, anguished or just lonely, one question deserves to be answered: What is my hurry?

Yep, You know the one. The guy who is a guy personified. He walks manly. He talks manly. He smells manly. He drives a manly truck. He works like a man. You get the picture.

Fifth graders Alyssa Cormier, Ella Mott and Jenna Gary attended the Rotary meeting on Jan. 30 and had the opportunity to listen to Jennings American Legion Hospital CEO Dana Williams and RN Courtney Leger brief the audience on the causes and signs of a stroke.
