Amelia Lola ‘Tee’Levy

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Amelia Lola Levy announces her passing from this life on March 26, 2018, at the age of 86.

Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at 10 a.m.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 28, from 3:30-8 p.m., with a rosary recited at 6 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, March 29, from 8 a.m. until the time of her service at 10 a.m.

Amelia will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.

Amelia was born in Morse to Ofed Hanks and Agnes Hanks on Aug. 25, 1931. Amelia was a homemaker who dedicated her life to the care of her family. She loved to entertain, dance, have a good time, fish and play softball. She was a kind a loving person who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Amelia is survived by her two daughters, Rosa Gale Wallace (Cecil, Jr.) of Poteet, Texas, and Michelle Mitchell (Farrell) of Carencro; her stepson, Tommy Levy, Jr. of Jennings; her eight grandchildren, Tommy, III, Scotty, Winnie, Sydney, Cecil, III, Clinton, Rosalynn and Ryan; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Amelia was preceded in death by her parents, Ofed and Agnes Hanks; her husband, T.L Levy, Sr.; her good friend for over 20 years, James Hart; and her 11 siblings, Dorothy, Mable, Evelyn, Louise, Henry Lee, Thelma, Wilford, Herbert, Beatrace, Clifford and Helen.
