It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Daniel “Dusty” Doucet, Jr. announces his passing from this life on March 26, 2018 at the age of 52.

Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Jennings on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, at 2:30 p.m., with Father Bill Miller officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, from 2:30-8 p.m., and will resume on Wednesday, March 28, from 10 a.m. until the time of his service at 2:30 p.m.

Burial will follow in Doucet Cemetery.

Dusty was born in Charleston, S.C., to Daniel Doucet, Sr. and Donna Lynn Comeaux Doucet on Sept. 2, 1965. Dusty served our country honorably in the Air Force. He liked to read, play on his computer, paint and ride his motorcycle. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. Dusty never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Dusty is survived by his father and stepmother, Daniel (Zelda) Doucet, Sr. of Hathaway; his fiancée, Jo LeJeune of Jennings; his two sons, Darcy Doucet (Tiffany) of Hathaway and Evan Doucet (Brandon LeBlanc) of Morgan City; his stepson, Taylor Bumgarden of Jennings; his three stepdaughters, Nikki (Ryan) Shaw of Orange, Texas, Lana Fruge of Jennings and Shae Bumgarden of Gulfport, Miss.; his brother, Jeremy Doucet (Christel) of Jennings; his sister, Shannon Doucet of Jennings; his stepsister, Heather Lavergne of Hathaway; his two grandchildren, Aiden Doucet of Hathaway and Jordyn Doucet of Hathaway; his four stepgrandchildren, Laken, Riley, Dailey and Ariana; his two nieces, Cate Doucet and Cee Cee Doucet; as well as numerous other family and friends.

Dusty was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Comeaux Doucet; his maternal grandparents, Warren and Carrie Comeaux; and his paternal grandparents, Valarie and Eldie Doucet.

Carrying Dusty to his final resting place will be Darcy Doucet, Allison Blanchard, Taylor Bumgarden, Keith Clement, Patrick Prejean, Jr., and Tommy Richert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Benoit and Evan Doucet.
