LAKE ARTHUR — Funeral Services for Douglas John “Chee-Chee” Perry, 84, of Lake Arthur, will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur Sunday, March 20, 2022, at 3 p.m., with Deacon Mike Tramel officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home beginning Sunday, March 30, 2022, at 9 a.m., with a Rosary recited at 1 p.m. Visitation will continue until the time of his service at 3 p.m.

Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Douglas was born May 6, 1937, to Lloyd Perry and Marie Vincent Perry. He was called from this earthly life by his Heavenly Father on March 16, 2022.

He served our country honorably in the U.S. Army and was a lifetime member of the VFW. Douglas worked in the oilfield until his retirement. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, and he also boiled some good crawfish. Douglas also enjoyed sports, playing poker and dancing with his baby.

Most of all, Douglas loved spending time and making memories with his family. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Douglas is survived by his son, Christopher (Monte) Perry of Huntsville, Ala.; his daughter, Christina (Freddie) Roy of Lake Arthur; his five grandchildren, Austin, Tatum, Hanna, Scott and Heidi; his six great-grandchildren, Connor, Cooper, Gracie, Quincy, Cohen, Kammie and Deuce; and his brothers, Paul “Blue” Perry of Lake Arthur and Robert “Rock” Perry of Lake Arthur.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Marie Perry; his wife and the love of his life, Rosella Stelly Perry; and his infant daughter, Sharon Ann Perry.

Those chosen to honor Douglas as his pallbearers will be Scott Roy, Connor Roy, Cooper Roy-Semien, Damon Cormier, Marcus Perry and Daren Perry.

Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Perry, Quincy Semien, Cohen Roy and Deuce Allison.
