Kiya Shianna Chiasson

It’s with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Kiya Chiasson announces her passing from this life on June 14, 2020.

Funeral services to honor the life of Kiya Shianna Chiasson, 24, of Lake Arthur will be held on Friday, June 19, 2020, at 1 p.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings, with Pastor Joey Dugas officiating.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at the funeral home Friday, June 19, 2020, from 9 a.m. until time of her services.

Following her services, Kiya will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.

Kiya was born in Crowley to Charles Chiasson and Mandie Gaspard Chiasson on April 15, 1996.

She enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was camping, fishing or hunting. Kiya was a free spirit and loved to dance to the beat of her own drum. She loved animals and taking care of her children. Kiya was a loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Those left behind to cherish their memories of Kiya are her parents, Charlie and Mandie Chiasson of Lake Arthur; children, Charleigh Chiasson of Lake Arthur; grandmother, Betty Gaspard of Welsh; and sisters, Bethami Ryder of Hathaway, Ajia Gaspard of Gueydan and Jesa Chiasson of Lake Arthur.
