Kramer Dean Regan, Sr.

Retired Special Forces Command Sergeant Major Kramer Dean Regan, Sr., 81, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 31, 2020, at his residence.

A memorial service was held Friday, June 5, 2020, at 10:30 a.m. at Boles Funeral Home, located at 425 W. Pennsylvania Avenue, Southern Pines, N.C. 28387.

Kramer was born Jan. 16, 1939, in Jennings and graduated from Jennings High School in 1956. He attended Louisiana State University, enlisted in the US Army in June 1961 and attended basic and AIT at Ft. Jackson, S.C. He completed special forces training in December 1962. Kramer’s career included two tours in Vietnam, two tours in Bad Tolz, W. Germany, and tours in S. Korea, Hawaii and Washington D.C., as well as posts in Ft. Sam Houston, Texas, Ft. Bliss, Texas, and Ft. Bragg, N.C., until his retirement in February 1994. His many awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (1OLC), Bronze Star (V), Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal (5OLC), Army Commendation Medal and the Army Achievement Medal.

His survivors include his wife, Deloris Messoria Regan (Master Sergeant Retired); son Kramer Dean Regan, Jr. (Carolyn) and their daughter Megan of Germany, and daughter Michelle McBride of Vass, N.C., and her children Victoria Stone, Thomas Stone and Marissa McBride, all of Vass. He is also survived by his sisters, Jean Thomas of Welsh and Mooneen Regan of Arlington, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Aurelia Cart Regan; two brothers, William “Billy” Regan and Jude Regan; and his son-in-law, Paul McBride. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
