LAKE ARTHUR - The family and friends of Mary Christine Miller are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on May 9, 2018, at the age of 53.

Funeral services will be held at Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur today, Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at 1 p.m., with Mickey Istre officiating.

Visitation was held at the funeral home on Monday, May 14, 2018, from 2 p.m. until the time of her service today, Tuesday, May 15. A rosary was recited on Monday at 6:30 p.m.

Burial will follow her services in St. Anthony Cemetery.

Mary was born in Vidor, Texas, to Adus Buck Rougeau on Aug. 21, 1964. Mary was a homemaker and dedicated her life to the care of her family. She like to hunt, fish and spend time with her grandchildren. Mary was a kind and loving person, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mary is survived by her mother, Gloria Lena Roy of Hayes; her son, Ursin Miller (Kayla) of Lake Charles; her three daughters, Teisha Rogers (Jeremaine) of Lowry, Jessica Miller of Lafayette and Adella Miller of Lowry; her son-in-law, James Boutte of Jennings; grandchildren, Zay, Ona, Duggie, Kevi, Lou Lou, A.J. and Hayden; brothers, John Rougeau of Lake Arthur, Hillary Rougeau of Lacassine, Seron Rougeau of Pecan Island, Keith Rougeau of Welsh and Mitchell Boudreaux of Roanoke; sisters, Susan Prejean of Lake Arthur, Connie Comeaux of Duson, April Richard of Morgan City, Marie Fontenot of Hayes, Crystal Richardson of Branch and Susan BeBee of Lacassine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ursin “Popeye” Miller; father, Adus Rougeau; stepfather, Ray Boudreaux; and her sisters, Margaret Vincent and Edna Haydon.

Carrying Mary to her final resting place will be Jeremaine Rogers, Alex Miller, Roy Miller, Jr., Shawn Prejean, Jr., Jimmy Miller, Trent Miller, Jason Rougeau and Keith Broussard, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ursin Miller III, Timothy Miller, Ja’Kevin and Jervonta Rogers, Mikie Duplechain and Zachary LeJeune.
