Funeral services for Alfred C. “Toby” Hoyt, Jr., 49, of Iota will be held at 1 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2021, in Miguez Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. James Townley officiating.

Visitation for Toby began Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, at 3:30 p.m. and continued until 9 p.m. Visitation will resume today, Wednesday, from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Burial will follow in Gatte Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Home.

Toby was born Dec. 16, 1971, in Brookhaven, Miss., to Alfred Clark, Sr., and Carol Annette Bihm Hoyt. He grew up in Luling and attended Hahnville High School.

He was a store manager/construction worker. He enjoyed working out and playing games such as pool, dominos and cards. He liked to draw and to listen to music, but his favorite times were those spent with his family. He was a very humble man.

Those left behind to cherish Toby’s memory are his wife, Cyndi Hoyt; daughters, Brooklyn Hoyt of Lafayette, Kynsli Duhon (Jeffery) of Jennings and Rylan Breaux of Iota; sons, Cody Hoyt (Kylie), Dylan Hoyt, Tyler Hoyt, Blaze Phillips (Cortlyn), Harley Duhon and Dannis Phillips (Mercede), all of Iota; sisters, Kimberly H. Thibodeaux (Robert) of Eunice, Michelle H. Hemmingway (Arthur) of DeQuincy and Cathy F. Moffitt (Charles) of Eunice; brothers, David Hoyt (Nancy) of Baton Rouge and Bobby Kennedy (Amy) of Sulphur; grandchildren, Slayder, Sawyer, Schyler, Khloe, Johnathon, Jossalyn, Emmitt and Reign.

He was preceded in death in by his parents, A.C. Hoyt, Sr., and Carol A. Bihm; niece, Krissii N. Guillory; greatnephew, Baylin W. Benoit; brother-in-law, Wendell Lopez; and his stepfather, Willie Furlow.

Carrying Toby to his place of rest will be pallbearers Cody Hoyt, Dylan Hoyt, Blaze Phillips, Dannis Phillips, Harley Duhon, Tyler Hoyt, Bobby Kennedy and Larry Breaux.

Honorary pall bearers are Danny Gatte, Tim Gatte, Braydie Gatte and Kevin Bihm.

Special thanks to Danny and Elsie for opening their home to us in our time of need. We will always be appreciative of your loving heart.
