Barbara Ann Menard Dartez

Mrs. Barbara Ann Menard Dartez, 73, died at 10:05 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, in Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Mrs. Dartez’s wishes were to be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019, in Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church, with Rev. Charles McMillin officiating.

Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

She was a lifelong resident of Jennings. Mrs. Dartez was a devoted Christian who helped anyone and she never knew a stranger. She never told anyone no when asked for help. She loved her family and friends. She was a very strong person who rarely ever complained.

Survivors include two daughters, Eva Trahan of Grand Lake and Jamie Dartez of Houston, Texas; four sons, Toby Dartez of Alvin, Texas, Todd Dartez of Welsh, Ben Dartez of Opelousas and Patrick Dartez of Hathaway; the father of her children, Nealis James Dartez; one sister, Debra Istre of Roanoke; four brothers, Terris, Wayne, Bill and Matthew Menard; six grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Delton and Delia Cormier Menard.
